02 Competitive Analysis& Survey
Before even diving into the features and the overall UX for Goal Builder, I conducted a couple product competitive analyses to gain a better understanding of the goal setting apps already in the market.
We started our research by sending out questionnaire to friends, family members, and various Facebook groups.
- Do you make meal plane for a week?
- What's hard part of create recipe when using an app?
- Do you go to grocery shopping according to your recipe of food or just buy any thing you want?
- Are you doing grocery shoping weekly?
Result of survey which is sent to 20 people from our target people
%80
people prefer to create meal calendar for week
%70
hard part of create recipe is typing ingraedients and directions
%50
make a list for grocery shopping with no idea about food that they will cook
What's come out from research?
We discovered that most of them prefer to have meal calendar, organize them but don't use any thing for organize their grocery shopping.
- prefer to share recipes with people who know them - need to organize their meal plane with recipes
- need to keep own recipe or photo of recipes - hard part of creating recipe is typing
03 Personas
Based on the research we identified 3 types of personas that helped us stay anchored on the user's needs and avoid turning to features that won't help them
04 App flow
When we had a clear picture of our users' needs, we started to brainstorm ideas about the app's layout and its main features. We kept in mind our personas and based our ideas on the potential usage scenarios.
While brainstorming a user flow, we were able to decrease the number of steps from seven to five by implementing more intuitive input techniques.
In this app flow we flowed 3 main task that user can do it by this app
1.Create own recipe
2.Send recipe
3.Create meal calendar
05 Wireframe
After completing the initial discovery period, we created a wirerframe. based on the user journeys above we spliti users journy to 3 senario and get narrow to each of them. By having this wireframe, we visualized the users' navigation from start to finish. it's help us to got a clearer vision for the design steps.
